Fellowship
Congregational Life
The Congregational Life Ministry Team addresses the ministry of hospitality, plans fellowship events, and works to bring people together in order to support and build community. Among the groups and activities that address these goals are the following:
• Church Picnic
o This event is held in September at a local park. Food is provided and there are fun activities for all ages.
• The Grace Caregivers
o This group provides care and concern through cards, visits, phone calls and flowers to those who are hospitalized, homebound or in need.
• The Prayer Group
o The members of the Prayer Group pray for those in need and meet monthly to pray and maintain the prayer list. A Healing Service is held quarterly during Sunday morning services, and opportunity for individual prayer and anointing is available for those who desire it.
• Ladies Night Out (LNO)
o This is a fellowship group that meets on the first Monday of each month for devotions and fellowship. It also sponsors a yearly retreat for women at a retreat center.
• The Friday Koinonia Group
o This group meets twice monthly for book studies and to engage in fellowship.
• The Duplicate Bridge Group
• Kid’s Breakfast Club
o This group meets after the early service on Sunday mornings and provides cereal, juice and fellowship time before the start of Sunday School.
• Prayer Shawl Ministry
o This group meets monthly at church for fellowship, for a chance to knit or crochet together, and to pray for those who will receive the garments that are made. The members of this ministry make prayer shawls, lap robes, and baptismal blankets, and as opportunities and needs arise, these items are given away, as tokens of care and concern for the recipients. The members strive to let others know the love of God through the gifts that are made and presented.
