The Congregational Life Ministry Team addresses the needs of the congregation through hospitality, fellowship events, and works to bring people together in order to support and build community.  Among the groups and activities that address these goals are the following:

Hospitality

The Hospitality group is responsible for planning social events and coordinating with Grace’s other ministries to provide refreshments, potlucks, picnics, and celebratory meals based on the needs of the church.  This group is also responsible for keeping the kitchen stocked with paper products and basic needs for Sunday coffee setup. Congregational Life is always looking for more members to join the team and help plan new events.  With more participants, more activities can be considered.

Some of the annual events planned by Congregational Life Hospitality Group are:

  • Grace’s Church Picnic: This event is usually coordinated with the Youth Sunday in June and features both a BBQ and potluck.

  • Grace’s Anniversary: The anniversary of Grace Lutheran’s founding is on March 11th each year and is held on a Sunday that is close to the date.  We celebrate with a potluck meal and look forward to celebrating Grace’s 50th Anniversary during March of 2022.

  • Pastor Tara’s Celebration of Ministry anniversary falls on September 1st. This celebration is planned each year on a Sunday in September.

  • Congregational Life is always willing to help other ministries with celebrations.

This group working closely with the Pastor, provides care and concern through cards, visits, phone calls and flowers to those who are hospitalized, homebound or in need. Grace Caregivers also help to coordinate meals when needed and coordinate funeral luncheons at the church.

Ladies Lunch Bunch

This is a group that meets on the first Thursday of each month, usually at Grace, for lunch, devotions and fellowship.  All ladies are welcome and bring a friend!

Ladies from this group may also get involved in planning, hosting or attending the following:

Women’s Retreat

This retreat is held annually, usually in September, and is coordinated by volunteers from the church members. All women are invited to attend. The Women’s Retreat has a theme each year and offers participants the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful and serene setting to relax and reflect on their spiritual gifts and God’s love.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The members of this ministry make prayer shawls, lap robes, and baptismal blankets, and as opportunities and needs arise, these items are given away, as tokens of care and concern for the recipients.  The members strive to let other know the love of God through the gifts that are made and presented.
